Robert Thomas is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in South San Francisco, beloved by Robert for the cornmeal pancakes at JoAnn's Diner and, by his father before him, for the crab cakes at the Basque Cultural Center. Robert's poems have appeared in The Atlantic, FIELD, The Iowa Review, New England Review, The Southern Review, and many other journals. He received a 2003 poetry fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
