TRUTH

Carry me home, oh dark fathom
and seal me in my darkness
Swindle away my wings of wrath
I feel comfort in my haven.

But wait, oh dark fathom
mark our trail to blindness;
For some days the suns rise
and freedom will tug my harness.

Where is it, oh dark fathom
this thing they call the truth?
Is it in the books of Sophocles
Or is it in the breeze in bayeruth?

Is it true, oh dark fathom
that the truth shall set me free?
Then take me to that freedom
where truth dwells bereaved?

Who are you, oh dark fathom;
what is it you seek?
Why are you blind dark fathom;
is the truth so bleak?
