Kate Buckley's poems have appeared or are is forthcoming in a variety of journals including The Bellingham Review, The Heartland Review, New Southerner, The North American Review, Slipstream, and Spillway, and in the book, Tide Pools, an Anthology of Orange County Poetry. Her first book, A Wild Region, was recently released by Moon Tide Press, and a second book, Follow Me Down, is forthcoming from Tebot Bach. Recent prizes and awards include: 2007 Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize (finalist), 2007 Gabehart Prize for Imaginative Writing, 2008 Oregon State Poetry Association Contest (3rd place), 2008 Green River Writers Contest for poetry (3rd place), 2008 Bellingham Review's 49th Parallel Poetry Award (Runner Up), 2008 Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize (2nd place & finalist), and the 2008 North American Review's James Hearst Poetry Prize, selected by Molly Peacock. Kate is also a 2008 Pushcart Prize and 2008 National Book Award nominee. |
