Natalie Diaz was born and raised in the Fort Mojave Indian Village in Needles, California. She is Mojave and Pima. After playing professional basketball in Europe and Asia, she returned to Old Dominion University to pursue her MFA degree in poetry and fiction. Natalie graduated in May 2007 and currently resides in Surprise, AZ.
