Jens Fink-Jensen made his debut as a writer of fiction on June 4th 1975 when his short story Juni 1995 (June 1995) was published in the daily newspaper "Information", and as a poet in May 1976 when four of his poems were published in the literary magazine "Hvedekorn" no. 76/1.

His first book, a collection of poems entitled Verden i et øje (The World in an Eye), was published on October 19th 1981 and his first prose, a collection of short stories entitled Bæsterne (The Beasts), on June 5th 1986. On March 18th 1994, he published the children's book Jonas og konkylien (Jonas and the Conch Shell).

Jens Fink-Jensen took his school-leaving examination in modern languages from Herlufsholm Kostskole (boarding school) in 1976 and subsequently did his national service and trained as an NCO in the Royal Life Guard. He became an architect (MAA, cand.arch.) from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen in 1986 and a multimedia designer from the same Academy in 1997.

As a member of the original circle of 1980s poets in the group around "Hvedekorn"'s editor Poul Borum, Jens Fink-Jensen, in cooperation with his colleague Michael Strunge, among others, arranged the generational manifestation "NÅ!!80" in Copenhagen in 1980.
