Arlene Ang was born in Manila, Philippines. She presently lives in a small town outside Venice, Italy with her husband. A former editor for the Italian edition of Poems Niederngasse, she is the author of The Desecration of Doves (2005) and has been nominated five times for the Pushcart Prize.

Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Diagram, Forklift Ohio, 42opus, Liminal Pleasures,  Nthposition, Orbis, Painted Bride Quarterly, The Pedestal, Poetry Ireland, Rattle, Shearsman and Unpleasant Event Schedule. She was recently awarded The Frogmore Poetry Prize for 2006.
