Hristo Mednikarov is a Bulgarian poet and writer, author of 11 books. He has published more than 1000 articles in central press. In 1996 he was nominated by International Academy of Arts in Paris for his book ÒReflection and EpiphanyÓ. In year 2002 he was nominated for the National Award of Humour and Satire on the name of Rajko Alexiev for his book ÒJokers from the BalkanÓ. He is a winner of many national and regional literature competitions and has got awards from Bulgarian National Research Institute for his research books, dedicated to the Revival past of Elena region, member of Bulgarian writers and journalists associations and Honorary Citizen of Elena.

The author believes that one should listen to the voices of those, berried in his/hers mother land when writing poetical verses or prose, because the descendants should be always greater then their ancestors.

 

Translator Zdravka Vladova-Momcheva was born in Veliko Tarnovo , Bulgaria , on 3rd of October 1967. She finished higher education at University of Sofia " St. Kliment Ohridsky in 1993.

She published her first poetry book "Transformations in 1999 (Bulgarian language). Her second book "A child, a woman and a prophet" was published in 2000, followed by the bilingual "These Simple Things," which was part of the cultural initiative "Bulgarian Easter," organised by the Bulgarian government.

Her first novel "The Road" was published in 2002 and was represented to the Bulgarian readers in UK at the Bulgarian Embassy in London .

Since year 2000 she has lived in the UK .
