August Highland is the originator of over 12 genres of literature and visual art. He presents his writing and visual work by using personae. There are over 80 personae, and each one writes in his or her own style. These personae are members of one of three simulated literary movements. This literary/art performance is called "Metapoetics Theatre". The projects of these literary movements span over 36 websites. His literary work is in the special library collections of American Universities and his visual work is on permanent display at Harvard.
