So when the future is dormant I dream
of the symbols of strength that are the kereruÕs saliva,
its eyes guiding me through these mean spirited times,
its wings create a daylight and a sunlight,

a lightness behind everything it shines on,
and in relation to the rays when the sun sleeps
I can only respect the wisdom within.
Stones have light. Grief has great light.

The odours of doors and deep tears,
opening onto a land that gives faith,
and birds sanctify a beautiful life to suffice,

empowered by energy and the soilÕs respect for
trees, and flights that never dissolve for good,
but form shapes and this gives life to air.
