Nnorom Azuonye comes from Isuikwuato in the present day Abia State of Nigeria. He was born in the Republic of Biafra in July 1967, and studied Dramatic Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Azuonye is a poet, actor, interviewer, and short story writer. He has published short stories, poetry, interviews and essays in international literary journals notably, Agenda, Keystone, Eclectica, World Haiku Review, Poetry Monthly, and Orbis. His poems have also appeared in the anthologies: Voices Against Racism: 100 Poems Against Racism, O'Flaherty, Thomas ed. (VORA, 1998), and For The Love Of God, Kon, Desmond et al. eds. (Beaumont Publishing, Singapore, 2004). In 2002 Azuonye founded Sentinel Poetry Movement – The International Community of Poets ( www.sentinelpoetry.org.uk). He was editor of Sentinel Poetry (Online) magazine monthly Dec. 2002 – Feb 2005, and has been Editor of Sentinel Poetry Quarterly (print journal) since July 2004.
