SAM PIPERATO resides in Manhattan.  As a composer and lyricist his works have been seen around the United States.  “WILLY & RUPERT”, his latest musical, with collaborator Dina Gregory, has received two readings in New York, and this past August, had a very successful staged reading at the Bridewell Theatre in London, UK.

He performed on Broadway and on the road with several shows, including “A CHORUS LINE” and “EVITA”.  He left New York in 1985 to study architecture at the Frank Lloyd Wright School, where he became composer-in-residence. He went on to study composition at Carnegie Mellon where he also studied poetry writing with Gerald Costanza.  Mr. Piperato received his BFA in Dance from CalArts, and received his MFA as a composer and lyricist from the Musical Theatre Writing Program at Tisch in April of 2003.

Mr. Piperato recently wrote incidental music for a new Romulus Linney play, “SILVER RIVER”.  He has produced two music CDs of his compositions, “Snow” in 1999 and “Ten-in-One:  A Song Cycle for the Theatre” in 1995.
